Editing Guide
A practical guide for creators taking their exported videos from good to great.
01 / Bring your export
Export an H.264 MP4 from your editing app, then drop it into the studio. Start with a short clip.
02 / Make one great change
Trim your opening or closing frames first. Once it works, add captions, a new crop or a colour adjustment.
03 / Preview. Save. Share.
Check the actual processed video and its audio, download it, and save your project to return to it later.
Your editor. Our finishing touches.
No integrations required. Bring a compatible export from any of these tools.
Everything worth knowing
Can I upload a project file from my editor?
Export a finished video first. ClipCraft accepts MP4 and WebM, plus MOV when your browser can decode its codec. Native editor project files are not supported.
Which edits actually change my video?
Trimming, manual burned-in captions, brightness/contrast/saturation, centre-crop resizing and playback speed are rendered into a new video. Silence removal analyzes decodable audio and removes low-volume sections longer than 0.6 seconds; quiet music can also be classified as silence.
Does AI watch or transcribe my video?
No. Editing suggestions use text AI: filename, dimensions, duration and selected settings only. No footage or audio is sent. Image-analysis AI is also available on the platform, but it is not a video-upscaling or segmentation model and is not used for these edits. Captions remain manual.
What output format will I get?
The browser chooses WebM (VP8/VP9) or MP4 when supported. Rendering is real-time at up to 30 fps, not frame-accurate FFmpeg editing. Automatic resolution follows Standard (1280px) or High (1920px). Enhancement controls override that with 1280, 1920 or 2560px on the longest side, or exact 3840 × 2160 landscape UHD. The exported dimensions are decoded and checked; unsupported resolutions fail rather than being called successful. Output bitrate scales with pixel count, but the browser ultimately chooses the codec and bitrate.
Are enhancement and background removal AI-powered?
No. Upscaling is ordinary high-quality resampling. Sharpening, edge-aware denoising and mild artifact smoothing use real GPU spatial filters, not learned restoration. Background tools chroma-key a colour you select and composite a solid colour, green screen or local image. Arbitrary-background subject segmentation and genuine AI video upscaling are not connected. Effects are actually rendered into the export. The Settings workflow tests check real filter pixels, dimensions, playback and download bytes, one feature at a time.
Why did nothing download?
An editor iframe or browser security policy can block downloads or file sharing without reporting completion. Download now uses a separate File-backed URL, checks its bytes and offers rechecking, direct opening and file sharing when the browser supports it. On desktop, the published app can use a file-save picker where available. On Android, try Share / save or Open video and use its menu. If the editor blocks it, use the published app outside the preview. Anchor downloads only report that a request was made, never that the file finished saving.
Where are my videos stored?
The studio processes videos locally. Saved private projects use browser storage on this device. The optional public cloud library uses public File Storage and the built-in key-value store; everyone can list and access it. It is never suitable for sensitive footage.
What does an edit cost?
Local video rendering makes no cloud processing or AI calls, so it uses no processing credits. AI suggestions use one text-generation request, up to 350 output tokens. The platform did not expose an exact credit tariff. This app has a Free-plan text AI limit of 100 requests/hour, shared across visitors. Check the Add-ons panel for exact costs and quotas.
Why might processing fail?
An unsupported input codec, a browser without MediaRecorder/canvas capture, low memory or background-tab throttling can interrupt rendering. Try a short H.264 MP4 in a current desktop browser. Keep this tab visible and start with trimming only. MOV support depends on its actual codec, not its extension.
Private, without pretending
There is no configured FFmpeg backend and no authentication add-on. This version uses your browser’s real video encoder, with device-local projects. Public cloud publishing is optional and clearly marked.
Ready for a better cut?
Start small. Upload a clip, trim a few seconds, and see the difference.
